Aafiya Means Complete Well-Being (عافية)
Aafiya comes from Arabic and describes a state of whole-person wellness - health in mind, body, and soul, and protection from illness. It reflects the highest form of health: not just the absence of disease, but the presence of balance, vitality, and ease in everyday life. This meaning shapes everything Dr. Ali does. She views health as deeply interconnected, influenced by how a woman lives, thinks, rests, eats, moves, and feels.

About Dr. Sarah Ali
Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician | Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) | Advanced Obesity Medicine Training
Dr. Sarah Ali blends modern metabolic and hormonal science with a whole-person approach to women’s health. She founded Aafiya Wellness & Weight Loss to give women the kind of care they rarely receive in traditional settings, care that listens deeply, personalizes precisely, and honors the complexity of a woman’s life and physiology.
Her journey began after a debilitating pregnancy and postpartum recovery that left her barely able to walk at three months postpartum. She now calls that season a mercy, a turning point that revealed how easily women’s health can unravel when depletion goes unrecognized and untreated.
Through lifestyle changes, mindset work, metabolic support, and medical therapy, she restored her own health, losing 50 pounds, rebuilding strength, and regaining vibrant energy, all while caring for a baby who never slept through the night.
That experience reignited her passion and shaped her mission: to help women restore strength, stability, self-trust, and the ability to feel at home in their bodies again.
Dr. Ali has seen firsthand what happens when women’s health is neglected, both in her own family and through
caring for patients whose preventable conditions led to a loss of mobility, vitality, and independence. She has
watched women slip into frailty, not because of age alone, but because they dismissed their own needs for too long.
She believes self-care is the most selfless thing you can do. Women thriving in their 70s and 80s aren’t “lucky,” but intentional in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
Aafiya Wellness & Weight Loss is the embodiment of that philosophy:
a place where women receive personalized, evidence-based, deeply connected care that supports their health today, and protects their health for decades to come.
